How do I stop a program from loading during bootup?
For Windows XP users, Microsoft provides a program called msconfig. To run the program, goto Start->Run and type "msconfig". Goto the table titled Startup and this will list all the programs that are loaded during bootup. You can uncheck a program to stop them from loading.

How often should I defrag my hard drive?
We recommend that you defrag your hard drive at least once a month. If you hard drive is severely fragmented you may need to defragment several times as a single pass will not do much.

How often should I update drivers on my computer?
We always go by the theory that \"if it isn\'t broken, then don\'t fix it\". We recommend that you only update a driver, if it fixes a problem that you are experiencing or improves security or performance in a big way. Before installing any new drivers we recommend that you back up any data just in case anything goes wrong.

Should I turn on Microsoft Windows Auto Update?
Although we recommend that you check for security patches from Microsoft regulary, we don't recommend that you turn on Windows Auto Update. You should always check what Update is installing before proceeding with any updates.

How do I update my BIOS
You should only update your BIOS if you are experiencing issues that are listed on the motherboard manufacturers website. You will need to download the latest BIOS from the motherboard manufacturer and create a bootable floppy disk. To create a bootable floppy goto "My Computer", right click on your floppy drive and select "Format". Make sure "create bootable disk" is selected. How much ventilation does my computer require?
We recommend at least 30cm of space between the front and back of the case to any walls. Enclosed computer desk cabinets are not recommended as they tend to trap heat.

What utility software do you recommend?
The only utility software we recommend are virus scanners and firewalls. For Anti-virus we recommend Trend Micro PC Cillin. PC Cillin has an integrated Firewall, but we prefer to use ZoneAlarm for our firewall. We strongly advise against using programs such as Norton System Works, Norton Utilities, Norton Cleansweep, Uninstallers, Nuts and Bolts and memory optimisation programs. These type of programs are unnecessary, create compatibility problems, can make the system unstable and hinder performance.
